Learn to understand the Bikram Yoga series more deeply—and develop the skills to teach it clearly and confidently.
Now in its fourth edition, MyYoga’s 200-hour teacher training has a proven track record of helping practitioners become active teachers. Graduates from previous editions have gone on to teach and continue teaching today.
Led by Lydia Wright and an experienced international team, the program centres on the classic Bikram Yoga sequence, also known as Hot 26+2. It welcomes aspiring teachers, existing yoga teachers who want to add the series to their skills, Bikram teachers seeking a refresher, and dedicated practitioners interested in deepening their understanding or exploring teaching.
Through daily practice, detailed posture discussions and applied anatomy, you will study the purpose of every posture, how the sequence fits together and how different bodies experience it. A structured teaching script provides your foundation, while regular practice teaching and direct feedback help you learn to observe students, give useful instructions and develop your own authentic teaching voice.
The core teaching team comprises Lydia Wright, Heather Degrotte, Jessica Rask and Marcel van de Vis Heil. The curriculum includes yoga philosophy, with guest contributors Scott Lamps and Ida Jo leading a dedicated session on the history and lineage of the series.
The 200-hour program combines sixteen days of intensive residential training with follow-up teaching and study after returning home. Full participation in the residential program earns a Certificate of Participation. Trainees then have up to
eight weeks to submit their final teaching script, complete the required practice-teaching classes, submit a recording of a complete class and address feedback from the teaching team. The final 200-hour MyYoga Certificate of Completion is awarded once all requirements have been reviewed and approved.
D’Alijo’s natural surroundings offer space to step away from everyday responsibilities and focus on practising, studying and learning together. The days are full, with time included for meals, rest, study and recovery. Every participant is expected to take part fully, including in the teaching exercises.
The training is conducted in English. An advanced or “perfect” practice is not required, but curiosity, commitment and consistent preparation are essential.
Accommodation, meals, training materials and designated group transfers between Porto Airport and D’Alijo are included.
