Delight Yoga, an annual guest at D’Alijo for their three retreats – The Body, The Heart, and The Mind – faced financial difficulties and filed for bankruptcy on June 23rd. As a result, they were unable to fulfill their payment obligations for The Heart and The Mind retreats in D’Alijo. Despite this setback, we at D’Alijo have decided to proceed with the Heart and the Mind retreats this summer, even without any guarantee of payment. Sahaj, along with Satya, will be leading the retreats, despite the uncertainty surrounding their compensation. Recognizing that unforeseen circumstances can affect anyone, we believe it’s important to allow the students to attend their retreats, and we are open to receiving donations from our community to make this possible.
In the midst of uncertainty and challenges, a glimmer of light emerged for us yesterday. As you probably know, Delight Yoga has gone through a very difficult time over the past few weeks. Due to the burdens of high corona debts, increased rent, and soaring gas price we were forced to file for bankruptcy on the 23rd of June. This meant that not only the continued existence of our studios had become uncertain, but we could also no longer guarantee that The Heart and The Mind retreat in D’Alijo, Portugal would be able to go ahead.
Yet, we are delighted to share some uplifting news with you today. Despite the circumstances, the Heart and the Mind retreat will indeed carry on this summer. This wonderful outcome is due to the remarkable generosity of Nico & Mikel and their team at D’Alijo and our very own teacher Kevin Sahaj. Today Nico informed us that they will open their beautiful sanctuary to us, even without any guarantee of payment. And our beloved Sahaj will be there to guide us – together with Satya – despite the uncertainty surrounding his compensation.
We cannot express our deep gratitude enough to Nico, Mikel and Sahaj for their immense kindness. We are overjoyed that we can still offer you the gift of yoga, even in the face of adversity. These upcoming retreats are bound to be truly extraordinary, as they have been infused with more love and dedication than ever before.
